 [When Aya's face appears on the Network, there's something different about it.  Usually, she addresses the masses with her impassive, neutral expression and tone.  But today?  Today, there is a tiny, but noticeable spark of...something in her eyes.]

[Her blue, hopeful eyes.]

This is Green Lantern Aya, reporting in.  The signal is unencrypted for maximum availability, but can be transferred to a more secure channel upon request.

[She pauses for a moment, as if deliberating something.]

Interceptor, do you read me?  Hal Jordan?  Sergeant Kilowag?  [Then, in a slightly softer tone:] ...Razer?

Not definitively. There are subtle distinctions in the job descriptions.

But Wardens always include security.

I am responsible for the safety as well as the rehabilitation of my assigned inmate, yes.

It has proven a far more challenging task than I had first anticipated.

What exactly did you think was gonna be easy about leading people to the light?

I never said I thought it was going to be easy. Just that I was not prepared for the wide range of unique variables in the process of habilitation.

Yeah, well, welcome to living. No one's prepared, and if they say they are, they're lying.

[She would argue that she is, technically, not 'living'...but it was almost a moot point by now.]

Perhaps I should allow you to return to your...you referred to it as a 'piano' lesson?

[Alec glances around with exaggerated twists of his neck to see over first one shoulder and then the other - then he shrugs and grins at her.]

[She wonders what he is looking at, given the extreme force of movement with which he twisted his head from side to side.]

The Admiral is the one driving, actually. Though he does not appear to be very good at it.

[Alec just laughs; he's not even going to bother trying to explain it. He has one Joshua in his life already, he doesn't need another.]
